B.Tech Food Technology Entrance 2083: TU IOST Form Is Now Open
The Institute of Science and Technology (IOST), Tribhuvan University, has opened the online application form for the four-year, semester-based B.Tech (Food Technology) program for the academic year 2083. If you have completed +2 Science and want a career in food science, this is the single entrance exam that opens the door to Padmashree College, Tinkune and ten other campuses across Nepal.

B.Tech (Food Technology) is a four-year, eight-semester undergraduate degree under Tribhuvan University's Institute of Science and Technology. It blends food science, chemistry, microbiology, processing, quality control, and product development — preparing graduates for Nepal's growing food, dairy, beverage, and agro-processing industries, as well as quality-assurance, R&D, food-safety, and entrepreneurship roles.
For +2 Science graduates who want a science career that is hands-on, lab-based, and directly job-linked, food technology is one of the most practical and under-rated options in Nepal.
You are eligible to apply for the B.Tech Food Technology 2083 entrance if you meet any one of the following:

How placement is decided: the merit list is prepared on entrance marks. If two candidates score equal marks, priority goes to Chemistry marks first, then Mathematics, then Physics, then Language Aptitude (English), and finally the lower academic level. These tie-break scores are not published.

Once the entrance result is published, each candidate downloads their score sheet and contacts the college where they wish to enroll. Admission is then confirmed at the chosen college based on the merit/placement list and available seats.
Padmashree College is one of the eleven IOST-affiliated colleges authorized to run B.Tech Food Technology, with a quota of 24 seats. For students based in or around Kathmandu, Padmashree's Tinkune location is a real advantage central, well-connected by public transport, and close to Koteshwor and the airport.

The online form opens on Asar 15, 2083 and the regular-fee deadline is Shrawan 29, 2083. A double-fee (late) window runs from Shrawan 30 to Bhadra 4, 2083. After that the online form closes automatically.
The entrance exam is scheduled for Bhadra 7, 2083 (Sunday) at 1:00 PM. The exact exam centre will be published separately by IOST.
10+2 Science (or equivalent / I.Sc.) with Chemistry and Mathematics of 100 full marks each, passed in at least second division or Final Grade C, with English of at least 100 full marks and minimum GPA 1.6 in other subjects. CTEVT three-year diploma holders and A-Level students with the required subjects are also eligible.
It is 100 marks of objective multiple-choice questions based on the Class 11 and 12 syllabus — Chemistry 25, Mathematics 25, Physics 25, and Language Aptitude (English) 25. The duration is 2 hours, there is no negative marking, and 35% is required to pass.
The regular application fee is NPR 1,650. During the late window (Shrawan 30 – Bhadra 4) the double fee of NPR 3,300 applies. The entrance exam fee is non-refundable.
Padmashree College in Tinkune, Kathmandu is one of the TU-affiliated campuses offering B.Tech Food Technology, with a quota of 24 seats. After passing the IOST entrance and securing placement, you can confirm admission at Padmashree.
